ESI Center Bulgaria was established in 2003 as a public-private partnership by European Software Institute (ESI, Spain) and BASCOM (Bulgarian Association of Software Companies), supported by the Ministry of Transport and Communication Technologies, UNDP-Bulgaria and the US Agency for International Development (USAID). Since 2006 the center acts as a regional ESI Center Eastern Europe in over 13 countries. It supports the ICT industry competitiveness at regional and national level through adoption of new technologies and quality models (like CMMI, ITmark), building regional capacity and common ICT brand.
