European Manufacturing SMEs, Artists and Technology providers are invited to participate in the first call of Better Factory project: Call for Expressions of Interest. With the support of the Better Factory consortium, the pre-selected applicants will follow a matchmaking process through the Robotics and Automation Marketplace (RAMP).  The teams will be composed of one Manufacturing SME/Mid-Cap, one Artist and one Technology Supplier. The aim is the selected candidates to engage in a set of one-year collaborative experiments to redesign the manufacturers’ product portfolio and to encourage the process of digital transformation.

The project will enable Manufacturing SMEs to enter new markets with customisable products or service portfolios, Artists with an industrial background to create new business models for themselves and reach new prospective clients, and Technology Suppliers to reach out to new potential customers and test technologies in real-life situations with low financial risk.  

The following sectors are prioritised:  

• Plastic and Rubber
• Furniture and Wood
• Food and Agriculture
• Construction
• Metal and Machinery
• Textile and Leather

An Open Call for co-created proposals will be launched in May 2021 in order to select the 8 best Experiments presented by the teams and receive funding.
