In the last day of 2020 ICT Cluster, Sofia Tech Park, Sofia Municipality, NEVEQ, SCAI, institute GATE and Technical university-Sofia combined experience and expertise and founded the “European Digital Innovation Hub for Data Science, High Performance Computing and Artificial Intelligence”. The goal of the hub is to bring together actions and know-how to:

• support the process of digital transformation of the Industry and society in the Southwestern region of Bulgaria;
• organize initiatives for exchanging experience with other European digital innovation hubs;
• conduct projects, related to supporting the application of digital technologies in SMEs and help their successful implementation;
• support the development of human capital by improving their digital skills and competences;

The first annual conference on European digital innovation hubs under the Digital Europe program was held on 26 and 27 January 2021. The event was organized by the European Commission and the Luxembourg Ministry of the Economy. The focus of the conference was introducing the competition for “European Digital Innovation Hubs under the Digital Europe Program”. It`s a 2-phase competitions: national and European level.

Currently ICT Cluster together with the partner organisations are preparing the necessary documentation for participation in the competition at national level.
