Kick off meeting of Bulgarian Cluster „Telecommunications"

Telecommunications Cluster was founded under the initiative of Foundation “ICT Cluster” in the beginning of 2008 under the project “Establishment of Telecommunications Cluster and Development of Sustainable Cluster Strategy” (Project BG 2005/017-586.04.02/ESC/G/CDI-II-003), funded by PHARE Programme and the Ministry of Economy and Energy.
On a meeting held on 13.04.2010 Telecommunications cluster was transformed as non – profit organization – Bulgarian Cluster “Telecommunications”. Members of the new legal entity are 8 companies from the ICT sector and Technical University - Sofia.
The main goal of the Bulgarian Cluster “Telecommunications” is to support the development of business and innovations within the Telecommunications Sector by increasing the competitiveness of its member companies. This goal shall be accomplished thanks to the following sub goals:

Formation of competitiveness of the cluster members and increase of the turnover of each of the companies by 10 - 15% for 2011 and by 25% for 2012.

Support for the research and development (R&D) of the member companies for the production of innovative and competitive products;

Establishment of marketing and commercial activities on cluster level aiming at penetrating new markets;

Support for the qualification and re-qualification of the personnel of the member companies;
Assoc. prof. eng. Vladimir Poulkov, dean of the “Telecommunications” faculty, Technical University of Sofia was elected as a chairman of the Board of the new cluster.
